Nantwich Christie Hospital Support Group
Raised to date £208,995
We are a Nantwich based group that raises funds for
The Christie in Manchester, in particular all the money
we collect is directed to the Derek Crowther Unit which
this is a specialist centre that trials new drug treatments.
It is a unit run entirely through charitable donations
and is used by patients for whom conventional treatment
has failed; it really could prove to be their last chance.

Newsletter - December 2011
As 2011 draws to a very mild conclusion, how different
from last year, we are thrilled to report on yet another
amazingly successful year of fundraising here at the
Nantwich Christie Hospital Support Group, with your
continued support and generosity we have managed to
raise an impressive £17,142.
This time last year our diary was starting to fill up
with events; our Quiz Night got us
off to a successful start, followed by our now infamous
Easter Egg Bingo Night and then the
ladies managed to refresh their summer wardrobes at
the FIZZ Fashion Show (The Bingo and
Fashion Show have been booked again for 2012 – see diary
of events.)
June saw us supporting a very wet Hankelow
Village Fete and hosting our third Ladies
Lunch at the Residence Bar and Restaurant.
October saw us support national Christie’s Month with
a spectacular Coffee & Shopping Morning,
hosted by Chris and Hayley Hutchings, and our Annual
Flag Day.
In November, we took our Ladies Lunch
formula, changed the venue to the 1539 Restaurant at
Chester Racecourse, added celebrity vet Steve Leonard
and produced an incredible fundraiser. Our fundraising
efforts have now been recognised in the form of a plaque
in the new treatment centre at The Christie.
Our first event of 2012, the Valentine’s Dinner
Dance at Crewe Hall Hotel & Spa, has already
sold out and we look forward to seeing many of there
in February.
Finally, we would like to thank all of our regular,
loyal supporters who never manage to disappoint; whether
that be through buying a ticket for one of our events,
or by donating a prize or their time. We would like
to take this opportunity to wish you all a Healthy
and Happy New Year.

One of our supporters Tricia Williamson,
along with her friend Linda Shemilt, recently completed
a trek along the Great Wall of China – well done to
